The Innovation Award
The Innovation Award is made for radical technical or social innovations that can be used to a key extent via the internet and are available to broad sectors of society. The award is especially addressed to members of the Swiss Universities, i.e. lecturers, those studying for doctorates, and lecturers, as well as to students and staff at the traditional universities and universities of applied science.
Target Groups
The award is open to all persons or groups of persons who are developing or who have already developed innovations.
The SWITCH Innovation Award is especially addressed to members of the Swiss Universities, such as students, professors or assistants. Applications may be submitted by individuals, groups, or entire classes who are working on innovative projects in the context of their studies. Researchers and research teams are also invited to enter for the award, as are persons engaged in the arts and culture.
Jury
SWITCH would like to give participants the opportunity to have the degree of innovation of their projects evaluated by an experienced, specialist jury. The Jury nominates the best projects and selects the winner of the SWITCH Innovation Award from these. The jury is made up of Maia Engeli, Annette Schindler, Rodney Douglas and Christophe Guignard.
Award Ceremony
The SWITCH Innovation Award is presented at an award ceremony where entrants present their nominated projects to a wider audience.
The prize
The prize money is CHF 15,000. It is intended to compensate the participants for the expense they have incurred and inspire education and research in Switzerland.
